A Practical Guide to Attracting Love Into Your Life
By Yasmin Boland | Out now

I read Cosmic Love ten years ago, and it’s still one of the most treasured, dog-eared books in my collection. And, Yasmin Boland happens to be one of my all-time favourite astrologers. Normally we wouldn’t review a re-released book, but so many people who visit RC are looking for love, I really wanted to share its spooky magic with you in case you hadn’t read it before.
Reason being? It is a collection of simple exercises that work. Clear the air. Send a specific message to the universe. And if your come-hither routine at your local pub isn’t doing it for you and RSVP gives you the chills, Cosmic Love is worth a try.
Updated ‘for the new millenium’, Cosmic Love is basically a new-agey guide to help you attract love into your life with the help of feng shui fixes, love spells, creative visualisation, wish lists, clutter clearing, affirmations, crystals, astrology, meditation and much, much more. Some chapters might be too wacky (sage stick cleansing never did it for me, personally). But other chapters might really resonate with you. In fact, this book has helped ME in two rather uncanny ways…
The first time I read it, I was looking for a place to live. Preferably in a terrace house, with a bigĀ  bedroom with French doors onto a balcony. And with really cool flatmates. (Specific, much?) But, as Yasmin writes, “If you can imagined it, it can come true. If you can believe it, you can achieve it.” That was good enough for me, so I turned to the Positive Drawing chapter and drew my vision.
Wouldn’t you know it, the first house I looked at fit the bill exactly. They had a few free rooms to fill and accepted my application to move in. The really spooky bit though? I didn’t get the bedroom with the French doors and the balcony as they’d already allocated it. But, the day before I was supposed to move in, the flatmates rang me, said the other flatmate had pulled out and did I want that room after all? Yes. Yes I did. As for the cool flatmates thing – I met two of my absolute best pals in that house who are my friends to this day.
A few years later, I also decided to do a wish list to find love. According to Yasmin, I needed half an hour to compose my Mr Wonderful Wish List. I grabbed a heap of coloured pens, a big sheet of paper and started. I wrote all the qualities for my dream man. Things like: kind. Funny. Smart. Good with Kids. Loves Travelling. Ready for love. Creative. Ready to commit. (I think I wrote ‘ready’ on that piece of paper, in different incarnations, about 20 times. Dammit, was I over commitment-phobes.)
I found that wish list just a few months ago, shortly after I got married. It’d been years since I read it – but my husband was everything – EVERYTHING – on the List (you can read more about that here). It was like I’d described him before I’d even met him and then, when I was ready for him, he just fell into my lap. But, as Yasmin says, the techniques in her book do work a bit like that. So be careful what you wish for!

  1. Di says:

My wackiest way was trying to use palm-reading to pick up a guy! I knew nothing about palm-reading, but he gave me his hand, I flirted up a storm and sparks flew!

  2. Amanda Gorton says:

Being bought up with old fashioned views and beliefs it was considered quite ‘wacky’ when I found love through an internet dating site!

  3. Kirstin Laraia says:

Ditto Amanda. I was sick with the flu 3yrs ago and my best mate suggested l read ‘Jonothan Canier’s ‘Cosmic Ordering’. After this life changing book l started placing a note uner my pillow with what l wanted in a future soul mate and for months l read it every night. This then lead me to getting the courage to go on Eharmony. Three years later lm now engaged to everythingy note said l wanted in a man and more. Gotta put it out to the cosmos to let the cosmos give it to you!
